Welcome to The NTUC Music Page |
The Music Ministry at New Thought Unity Center embraces many different forms of musical expression as being appropriate for connecting with Spirit. That is why you will hear musical styles as diverse as jazz, blues, classical, rap, gospel, traditional hymns, latin, Indian classical and folk (to name a few!) These varied styles reflect the diverse membership of our congregation and honor the cultural traditions from which they have come. Music is universal and we are open to its myriad manifestations. We endeavor to create services that enhance the weekly messages of our ministers and also create an atmosphere and environment conducive to a meditative and Spirit-conscious state.

Our 9am and 11am Sunday services feature inspiring congregational singing and special performances by many talented singers and performers. The New Thought Unity Center Choir performs a wide variety of contemporary and traditional pieces on a monthly basis. We also perform songs on our beautiful, recently restored pipe organ. For guided meditation we feature soothing, ambient music.
The 6:30pm Wednesday evening service, affectionately known as "Wonderful Wednesday", also features inspirational singing, special music by Jodi Robinson, and meditative ambient music.
The NTUC Music Ministry welcomes you to join in raising your voice or contributing your other performing talents so that that we may together celebrate our Oneness.

Join Our Choir!
The New Thought Unity Center Choir is seeking enthusiastic and committed men and women who love to sing. Our repertoire is eclectic, encompassing many styles, sometimes easier, sometimes more challenging. There is no need to know how to read music - we provide practice CDs for your particular voice part as well as printed music. We welcome new sopranos, altos, tenors, baritones and basses. Rehearsals are held in the Sanctuary every Wednesday evening from 7:25-9pm and we perform approximately once a month at our 9am and 11am Sunday services. We have great fun. We'd like you to join us. Call Music Director, Pat Kelly at 513-604-9889 or e-mail to: PatKelly@ntunity.org, or call Choir Coordinator, Martha Ramsey at 513-575-2390 or e-mail to: marthaannramsey@hotmail.com for more information.
Our next rehearsal/performance cycle will begin on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in preparation for a performance on Sunday, May 4, 2008 .

Looking For Instrumentalists |
The Music Ministry seeks instrumentalists who would like to occasionally perform with the team backing up our singers for the Sunday services. Of particular need are rhythmically adept individuals who might be inclined to play a drum or shake a tambourine or other hand-held percussion. We invite skilled wind or brass players, guitarists and keyboard players who would like to be involved. Call Pat Kelly, ph. # 513-604-9889 or e-mail PatKelly@ntunity.org for an audition or interview.

The Sound Team |
The NTUC Sound Team operates our sound systems at Sunday and Wednesday services. Duties include setting up microphones as needed for the ministers and performers, conducting main sound and monitor checks, and operating the sound console to insure that members of the congregation have an enjoyable listening experience. If your talents are in the area of sound mixing, if you have a good ear for music, or if you are already experienced in this area, you may want to become a part of this very important team. We will provide training. Please contact Involvement Coordinator, Sarah (Sam) Elliston at sarahelliston@ntunity.org for more information.
