- Apprenticed for 3 years with Baldwin-trained craftsmen at the Player Piano Shop, Cincinnati and worked in other full-service piano shops as tuner/technician
- 1984 Graduate of University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with degree in musical composition
